International Shito-Ryu Karate Federation

The International Shito-Ryu Karate Federation is an organization dedicated to the instruction of Shito-Ryu Karate in a traditional sense as well as a practical application of the technique found within its syllabus.  Shito-Ryu is a style rich and broad in Waza and Kata as it was formed by its founder Kenwa Mabuni.  After his death several of his senior students continued to teach his comcepts, Kata and essentially his philosophy.  Those original ideas of Kenwa Mabuni’s concepts and techniques were in turn passed on to Shihan Rudy Crosswell, 10th Dan Hanshi by several of those direct line senior students over the past four decades plus (see bio pg).  And so it is our intent in the ISKF to continue the tradition of Kenwa Mabuni and pass on all this knowledge to those that would devote their time and energy in an honest commitment to learn, understand and teach to the generations to come.

The International Shito-Ryu Karate Federation is affiliated with and endorsed by the International Seibukan Martial Arts Association of Kyoto, Japan, Menjo (diplomas of rank) are therefore internationally certified.

If you are sincerely interested in studying the Shito-Ryu style of karate in detail and depth without politics, we welcome your application for membership.  You may apply as an individual or as a branch dojo.  Please e-mail us at:  info@azbudokan.com
