Shihan Fumio Demura Seminar

Dear Sensei’s and Friends:

I would like to extend an invitation to you to attend the Annual Arizona Genbu-Kai Karate/Kobudo Seminars October 8th through the 11th.  

Shihan Demura will teach several seminars of Karate and Kobudo for karate-ka of all ages and levels of experience on the evening of Thursday October 8th in Tucson, Friday and Saturday the 9th and 10th in Phoenix and Sunday, October 11th in Tucson. Don't miss this rare opportunity to receive personal instruction from a living legend of Karate and Kobudo.

Sensei Demura at a glance:

• Began Karate training 1948

• All Japan Kumite Champion 1961

• Came to USA 1965

Black Belt Hall of Fame as Sensei of the Year 1969

• Black Belt Hall of Fame as Martial Artist of the Year 1975

• Also known for his work in films- taught Pat Morita, Karate Kid Series, Rising Sun, Mortal Kombat, the Island of Dr. Moreau and the new upcoming Millennium film “NINJA” (See Trailer http://www.traileraddict.com/trailer/ninja/featurette-the-art-of-the-dojo)

Shihan Fumio Demura introduced Shito-Ryu Karate to the USA in 1965. He also introduced Okinawa Kobudo: Sai, Nunchuku, Bo, Tonfa and Kama. Sensei Demura has trained with great masters like Master Asano, Sakagami, Hayashi, Higa, Chibana, Kenei Mabuni, Konishi, Taira, Inoue, Akamine, and Dan Ivan. He has enhanced the image and prestige of the martial arts and is well deserving of the tribute gained through his entrance in the Black Belt Hall of Fame in 1969 for "Instructor of the Year" and in 1975 for "Martial Artist of the Year."
